Yes. We knit half-cardigan stitch (also called half-brioche or fisherman rib) and full-cardigan rib, alongside plain jersey, 1x1 and 2x2 rib, cable, pointelle and open-work, jacquard and intarsia. Half-cardigan is usually developed at 5GG-7GG where the stitch has room to bloom; send a reference or tech pack and we will knit a swatch before the full sample.
Yes. We deliberately open the stitch density at 7GG to get a relaxed, airy handle for oversized silhouettes, and we can run it in hairy yarns such as mohair and alpaca blends or add a brushed finish. Because loose tension changes both the measurements and the yarn consumption, we confirm it on a knitted swatch first, then apply it to the graded sample.
The usual routes are a wool/alpaca blend, a mohair blend, or a wool base with a brushed finish. Alpaca gives drape and a soft halo with less prickle than mohair; mohair gives a longer, more visible halo; a brushed lambswool is the most economical of the three. Melange, marl and multi-colour stripe effects are knitted in the yarn rather than printed. We will recommend a specific composition once we know your target price, season weight and care requirements.
