A typical custom sweater sample runs 7 to 15 days once yarn is available. Here is where that time goes:

The single biggest variable is yarn. A stock yarn color can be ready in a day; a custom-dyed lot can take one to three weeks on its own.

Rarely is the first sample perfect — and that is healthy. Expect:

• Proto / 1st sample — confirms overall look, structure and handfeel
• Fit / size set — confirms measurements and grading across sizes
• Pre-production (PP) sample — the approved standard bulk is matched against
