Climate & Season

A blank is a finished garment with no logo, no graphic and no jacquard on it — a body you put your own label into. Of the 410 styles published on this site, 278 are undecorated and can be produced as blanks, including 108 zip-through and cardigan bodies, across 14 product categories and a 3GG–18GG in-house gauge range. This page is for buyers who already know what they want to make: a designer working from a sketch, a brand replacing a discontinued body, a club or label producing its own run. What you need from a factory in that position is not styling — it is a clean garment, in your colour, with your label in it, at a quantity that makes sense. One thing worth saying plainly, because it is the most common misreading of our catalogue: the colour you see in a product photo is the sample colourway, not the range. Every published style is made to order, and colour is a specification you give us, not a shelf we pick from. If a body works for you in grey, you can have it in black.

What makes a style usable as a blank. We separate the catalogue by decoration, not by name, and we will show our working. Of 410 published styles, 278 carry none of the following in the product name or the knit-structure field — jacquard, intarsia, Fair Isle, argyle, embroidery, appliqué, print, stripe, patchwork, colour block, houndstooth, check, camouflage, polka dot, graphic, motif or logo — and are therefore usable as blanks exactly as published. Cable, rib, waffle and marl are stitch structures rather than applied decoration, so they stay in the blank count. The remaining 109 carry a pattern or a mark that would have to be removed or replaced before they could serve as a blank body — which is a normal development request, not a refusal.
Colour. At 30 pieces per colour the body colour comes from our stock yarn colours - send a Pantone TCX reference, a physical swatch or an existing garment and we propose the closest. An exact colour dyed to order is available from 30 pieces, with a lab dip approved before bulk, for a small-lot dyeing surcharge and 7-15 extra days; at the mill's full dye lot of 100-300 pieces per colour the surcharge falls away. MOQ is 30 pieces per colour, so a three-colour run of one body is 90 pieces, not 30.
Fibre and gauge. Across the 278 blank bodies, 186 carry wool in the composition, 143 carry cotton, 31 cashmere, 25 merino, 21 acrylic, 9 mohair, 6 recycled fibre, 7 bamboo and 2 linen (compositions overlap, since most are blends). The in-house gauge range is 3GG–18GG. The bodies published here sit between 3GG and 14GG in practice: 3GG–5GG for chunky, outerwear-weight knits, 7GG–12GG for the majority of sweaters, cardigans and knit jackets, and 12GG–14GG for the finest polos and tees. Anything outside the published set is a development question, not a limit.
Labels and marks. A blank ships with no brand mark of any kind unless you ask for one. Woven main labels, care labels, size labels, hangtags and custom packaging are all available and are quoted separately — see Private Label Knitwear Support. We do not put our own name in a garment that carries yours.
Starting from your own design. You do not have to start from a published style. A sketch, a reference photo, a measurement sheet or a tech pack is enough to open a development. Where a published body is close to what you want, starting from it is faster and cheaper, because the knitting programme already exists.
What to send. Reference photo or sketch; target quantity and colour breakdown; Pantone or swatch; size range; fibre and gauge direction if you have one; label and packaging plan if the run is branded. Missing pieces do not block a first quote; they widen it.
Timing. Development samples run about 15-25 days from a confirmed tech pack and yarn. Bulk runs 30–45 days depending on quantity and complexity.
Blank bodies are published across 14 categories: men's sweaters (87), men's cardigans (47), men's knit jackets (26), knit accessories (24), women's sweaters (22), men's knit polos (15), maternity and baby knitwear (14), pet knitwear (11), kids' knitwear (10), women's knit bottoms (8), men's knit vests (7), women's cardigans (7), women's knit jackets (4), custom development (1). The 108 zip-through and cardigan bodies are the ones most often used as blanks, because a full-zip or button-front body gives a brand the most usable surface for its own labelling and the fewest constraints on fit.
Recommended for buyers in North America, the UK, Germany, France and the Nordics: independent designers and DTC brands producing their first knit body; established brands replacing a discontinued blank; clubs, teams and member organisations producing merchandise runs; uniform and workwear buyers who need a plain knit layer; and boutique retailers building own-label programmes. Nordic and Canadian buyers usually arrive with a heavier gauge and a wool-forward composition in mind. US and UK buyers more often start from a reference garment and a target landed cost. Both routes work; the difference is only which end of the specification is fixed first.
Blanks here are made to order, not held as stock. There is no warehouse of plain sweaters to ship next week — every piece is knitted for the order, which is what makes colour, gauge, fibre and fit specifiable in the first place, and what sets the 15-25 day sampling and 30–45 day bulk timelines. MOQ is 30 pieces per colour and applies to blanks exactly as it does to decorated styles. Certification coverage (OEKO-TEX Standard 100, ISO 9001, GRS, GOTS) should be confirmed against the specific fibre and the specific order before it is stated to a buyer's own customers.

A garment with no logo, graphic, jacquard, intarsia, fair-isle, embroidery or print on it — a plain body ready for your own label. 278 of the 410 styles published on this site meet that definition as published. The other 132 carry a pattern or mark that would need to be removed or replaced first, which is a normal development request.
Yes. The colour in a product photo is the sample colourway, not the available range — every style is knitted to order, so colour is something you specify. Send a Pantone TCX code, a swatch or an existing garment and we return a lab dip for approval before bulk. MOQ is 30 pieces per colour, so each additional colour is its own 30.
No. A blank ships with no mark of any kind. Woven main labels, care labels, size labels, hangtags and custom packaging are available and quoted separately, and they carry your brand, not ours.
30 pieces per colour. Three colours of the same body is 90 pieces. The minimum is the same for blanks as for decorated styles, because the cost driver is the knitting set-up, not the decoration.
Yes. A sketch, a reference photo, a measurement sheet or a full tech pack is enough to open a development. Starting from a published body that is already close is faster and cheaper, because the knitting programme exists — but it is not required.
No. Every piece is knitted for the order. That is the trade-off that makes colour, gauge, fibre and fit specifiable at all, and it is why sampling runs about 15-25 days from a confirmed tech pack and yarn and bulk runs 30-45 days.
